Ms. Wellsandt works with glass over the torch and in the kiln often apllying surface details through sandblasting and hand painted enamels. Sometimes she combines the glass with other materials such as metal, wood, or stone to create both functional and non-functional pieces.
Her work is described as elegant, whimsical and sophisticated. Of her work the artist comments, "...and what I love the most is that tickle of delight that rises up in me when I feel something new starting to emerge...THAT is a joy!"
