Clarence Mundy

Clarence Mundy was born of English parents in Valparaiso, Chile, February 25, 1920.  At a young age he moved to Santiago, the capital of Chile, where he did his early school studies at a Catholic school.

He started painting with painter Pedro Rezka.  He joined the National Art School in his early twenties where he studied with painters Jorge Caballero  and Carlos Pedraza.  He entered various art exhibits while at the school.  He migrated to the United States in 1954.  He traveled throughout Europe visiting museums in England, Spain, France and Italy.  Until his retirement in 1985, Mr. Mundy worked in the art department of the Martin Luther King Library in Washington DC.  His responsibilities included designing promotional posters for recently published books.

Mr. Mundy resides in Northwest Washington and continues to paint.
