Boris Chepkosev works and lives in Volgograd, Russia. He studied painting at the Volgograd Art Institute Chepkosev paints in the style of great Russian impressionists. He prefers to paint with a pallet knife instead of a traditional brush giving his Volga river scenes a three dimensional glistening appearance. With this technique, he is able to paint in surprisingly great detail. Even from a distance his paintings still hold their three dimensional aspect. Water is depicted with either small choppy strokes, or large sweeping ones.
